The future is bright – the future is yellow
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to raise our profile and increase the amount of business we do in Oxfordshire – we are looking forward to inviting clients to join us in the Polythene UK box for some exciting football and the opportunity to grow our business relationships,” says James Woollard MD, “the club’s recent promotion has added an extra element of excitement for the coming season and we intend to be fully behind them on their journey up the league and into the first division. COME ON YOU YELLOWS”
Polythene UK are also sponsoring the OUFC ladies team for the coming season, having supported the under 16s last year. Sponsorship of the first team comes on the back of tremendous growth in the business. “Due to our exclusive range of products, that are both cost effective and environmentally friendly, the business turnover has continued to show an impressive growth. Even in the recent challenging climate – we have always had a policy of putting something back in to the local community and as such have increased our sponsorship of the Oxford United teams”, said James, who was awarded the Shaw Gibbs Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2009, and has won the 2010, IoD New Business Director of the Year for London and the South East region – the finals of which will be announced in the Autumn.
Kelvin Thomas, Chairman of Oxford United commented, “We are delighted to build on our partnership with Polythene UK and will proudly have their name on the back of the shirts next season. As existing sponsors they have stepped up their involvement and as we return to the Football League we hope that they will play a part in another very successful season. Polythene UK’s continued help with our Ladies’ teams, is also a major positive.”

Polythene UK takes a stand on green issues
The packaging industry is exhibiting its new products at the ECOPAK fair on 24th and 25th February at the NEC, Birmingham and Polythene UK is taking a major part in the exhibition.
As the largest broker of polythene film and bags in the UK, we’re offering free compostable bags to all visitors to ECOPAK. These practical Polycomp bags are our bid to persuade people to switch to a greener option.
We’ll be demonstrating the powerful benefits of these new compostable Polycomp bags through a two minute speeded-up video that shows the process of decomposition. Strong in use, when they’ve come to the end of their useful life, Polycomp bags can decompose in just a week.
As James Woollard, Managing Director of Polythene UK, says: "We want to show people the incredible efficiency of our compostable 'Polycomp' bags and demonstrate just how easily they can switch to these greener bags."
Make a date to visit Polythene UK at ECOPAK this February. You can register here. We look forward to seeing you!

Polythene UK wins top award.

Conservative Party leader David Cameron has congratulated an Oxfordshire packaging supplier for landing an entrepreneur award.
James Woollard, managing director of Polythene UK that is based in Cameron's Witney constituency, won the Shaw Gibbs Award on the back of doubling turnover in its two-year existence.
Cameron said: "To achieve growth like this in a recession is truly impressive. Polythene UK is to be congratulated on this achievement which they obviously richly deserve."
James Woollard said the firm had even reported an increase in net profits in its second year despite turnover remaining relatively constant since the beginning of the recession. "The signs are good that repeat orders are coming back."
He added that winning the award had been a huge boost to the company. "My team work hard and anything like this is something we can all be proud of at Polythene UK."
Polythene UK brokers a range of high strength films including its three and five layer laminated Polylite film that offers outstanding strength at lower gauges. The applications include shrink-pallet covers, collations shrink film and polythene bags.
