This year, by way of a Christmas thank you to our customers, we are running a Festive Prize Draw for anyone placing an order for delivery in December.
The prize is a specially chosen case of mixed wines from the Oxford Wine Company which come supplied in a 6 bottle, wooden hinged box. Every order placed will be entered into the draw which will take place on 21 December. The lucky winner will be notified by email.
James and Kevin took an afternoon out of the office to attend the annual wine tasting event, in order to select the best wines for this promotion. James happily announced that ‘this was his favourite day of the year’. In his usual dedicated fashion, James diligently worked through nearly 30 wines, ensuring they carefully chose a balanced selection of both classic and up and coming new world wines.
Barbera d’Asti, Conan the Barbera, Piemonte
Intensely coloured. Vivid, spicy, sweet plum and raspberry fruit nose with earth and mineral notes. The palate is crunchy, vivid, extracted and tannic, with sweet berry fruits, spicy, tarry, mineral savouriness and some sweet raisiny notes. The signature here is the amazingly vivid fruit kept fresh by high acidity.
Fleurie, Château de Fleurie
Vibrant red in colour, with aromas of dark flowers and earth, followed by a plump, silky palate of crushed red berry fruit offset by a touch of earthy spice, with succulent and ripe mouthfeel set against a gentle tannic structure.
Festivo Malbec, Mendoza
Rich and expressive on the nose with fine black fruit aromas, oriental spices and sweet oak. The palate is round, full and voluptuous with extremely well integrated and satisfying oak notes. Expect smokiness, raisin and black cherries amongst the oriental spices.
Chablis, La Lotte
Pungent and flinty on the nose with creamy fruit underneath. Rich mineral characters are joined by buttery fruit which leads to a long crisp finish.
NZ Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough
A classic Sauvignon Blanc from the new world.
Villa Domiziano, Vino Frizzante Rosé, Veneto
Made from a selection of grapes including Prosecco from the hills north of Treviso. Soft cherry fruits with a very refreshing acidity, finishing on a long lingering clean note.
