Charity spotlight: raising money for the British Heart Foundation
This month saw Polythene UK once again sponsoring another good cause. Colin Harrison (pictured right), a good friend of the company, came to us to see if we could help him raise money for the British Heart Foundation – he was taking part in the 2012 London to Brighton OFF ROAD race.
The event was a challenging 75 mile off road trip from Richmond Park, London to the Seafront Hove near Brighton, in only 8 hours.
More than 27,000 cyclists took part in the bike ride in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
The toughest part of the ride was the climb up 813ft (247m) Ditchling Beacon just outside Brighton, which takes an average of 15 minutes to scale.
Colin said “I decided to team up with some mates who are the fasted downhill and slowest uphill cyclists in the country to raise some money for this worthwhile cause. When I approached Polythene UK they were delighted to help. At the end we managed to raise £630.00 and the whole event raised more than £50m. We are all very proud to have been part of it.”
