Having spent the last year driving to improve our green credentials, I decided that it was about time I made sure the rest of the world knew about all our hard work!
As such I have commissioned a new Polythene UK website which will fully outline our dedicated approach to sustainability and the benefits that our products bring to businesses nationwide.
Not long ago, I met with M&S to discuss the advantages of swapping to our new Polyair material. While the meeting went very well and the product was well received, I was concerned that this potential blue-chip client would look at our existing website to see what we, as a company, were all about and that they would come away without fully realising the extent of our green commitment.
Our current website was designed in 2008 with the goal of getting Polythene UK to the top of the Google rankings – which of course it has. However, 7 years on the requirements of the market have dramatically changed and the old site is no longer a fair reflection of the business.
Our green money saving solutions, closed loop supply chain deals and our packaging and waste levy advisory service are all there, but you need to spend 20 minutes going through the whole site in order to find this amazing information.
I want SMEs, Blue-chips and the FTSE 350 to immediately see that our exclusive products not only help to reduce carbon footprint and cost but also meet the legal government packaging requirement and waste tax obligations.
It’s about time we brought ourselves up to date with a new website. My challenge is to make sure that our core market of SME manufacturing businesses will still contact us through the new website, I don’t want Polythene UK to appear to be too big – after all we are also an SME.
I look forward to receiving your comments as to whether or not I have achieved this when the new site is launched later this month.
